My gosh where do I start with this book. Leigh Ann amazes me with each book she puts out. The romance in each book is so heart warming and wishing you had this sort of a romance. She has put every emotion in this book and in each of her other books. I have been on every journey of each of her books and they will tear your emotions apart.
In Brise, you read about the story of Lucas, Luke, and Phoebe, Twinkle. These characters are so very strong in the story. This is a hard review to write about without giving spoilers.
Lucas is at a very young age or 7 when he meets Phoebe at age 4. They move in next door to him and his mother and her mother are very close friends from college. Luke was told to be nice to her by his parents but little did he know that she would grab his heart forever. Lucas is her superhero and she is his Twinkle. Phoebe has a illness that makes her more fragile than most girls. And she has to go thru hell and back and back again.
As they grow up their relationship grows stronger and feelings get so much stronger. But Luke has to hold his at bay since Twinkle needs to explore life in her way and enjoy growing up and experiencing life and Luke knows this and holds his ground on it.
One day when Luke comes home from college to see Twinkle go to prom as tragedy strikes and he has to be the one to tell Twinkle. This causes their relationship to take a turn. They become even closer and her superhero becomes more than a superhero. Then Twinkles life takes a dramatic change and her world is shattered. She has to make a choice that changes the course the Luke had planned out for them. She leaves to heal and fulfill a dream of her mothers and hers to become a dancer.
During this time Lucas is lost and goes thru a loss and hurt that nearly destroys him. His heart cant take this. His plan he had set for them are gone. He searches and searches for his Twinkle but no luck. So he tries to move on with his life since he put in on hold before she left. Then one day fate has him aching all over again. As the same for Phoebe.
Now Phoebe is searching and trying to get her life back on track and do what she wanted to do all of her life anyways. But she has to go thru another hell to get back on track. She wants what she wanted all along and now she needs to make things right with Lucas.
Will Lucas forgive her? Will she have to endure another set back in her life that causes more pain?
Will Luke's plan fall back in order?
The book had me a total wreck of emotions reading it. I laughed and I was a all out sobbing mess then sobbing again with happy tears. Off and On emotion all the way thru this book.
How can one woman go thru illness, loss, illness again and another loss then go thru an awful abuse and still be strong enough to overcome all of this. Phoebe is stronger than I could have been with what she endured.
Leigh Ann again has another book here that you wont put down. Her characters in her books are so strong and the books are always so full of emotion. Each one has an HEA but getting to that point you have to carry around a box of tissues to get there. Each book gets stronger and stronger and more emotions tangled up in them. This is definitely a 5 star plus read. You will fall in love with the story and the authors other books. I am always ready for her next book because you don't know what to expect, what emotions she is going to put you thru. Leigh Ann has a way with words that you wont that will keep you coming back to her work for more.
